Next year, darts enthusiasts in New York City will have a new destination at Union Square. London-based pub chain Flight Club has secured a lease for a significant space in this prime location.

Prime Location and Lease Details

Flight Club will occupy 10,700 square feet at 31 Union Square West, covering the ground floor, lower level, and patio. The lease terms, including an annual rent of $1.8 million, were revealed through sources, though the exact lease duration remains undisclosed. This location, part of the historic Bank of Metropolis building, was previously home to the Blue Water Grill, which closed in 2019 after a notable two-decade run. The restaurant was featured in the third season of “Sex and the City.”

Flight Club's New York City Debut

The venue marks Flight Club’s first foray into New York City. Known for its modern take on traditional darts, Flight Club incorporates automated scoring to enhance the playing experience. Founded in London in 2015, the chain expanded to the U.S. in 2018, with existing locations in Chicago, Boston, Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver.

Excitement from State of Play Hospitality

Toby Harris, CEO of State of Play Hospitality, expressed enthusiasm about the new site. He noted that the search for a suitable New York location had been ongoing for over five years. Harris highlighted the significance of the Union Square site and the company’s commitment to preserving the building’s character while establishing a notable North American flagship.

Deal Arrangements

The lease deal was facilitated by CBRE’s Joe Hudson and Duane Davis for State of Play Hospitality, with landlord representation from Retail by MONA’s Brandon Singer, Kelly Gedinsky, and Max Kreinces.
