Fab Foundation Unveils Global HQ in Cambridge with BXP Partnership

The Fab Foundation, in collaboration with BXP, has inaugurated its flagship Fab Lab and global headquarters at 325 Main Street in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA.

Expanding Access to Advanced Manufacturing

Originally an outreach initiative from MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms, the Fab Foundation has significantly broadened its reach, promoting advanced manufacturing in underserved areas. With over 2,700 locations in 135 countries, the foundation has made substantial strides in democratizing access to technology.

The Living Laboratory Concept

The new headquarters aims to function as a "living laboratory," offering a comprehensive range of tools and resources. It will coordinate global programs, provide technical training, and support business incubation. The facility will encompass a full-service Fab Lab, a Fab store, event spaces, and the central Fab HQ.

Commitment to Community Impact

Bryan Koop, executive vice president for BXP’s Boston region, emphasized the significance of this project as part of BXP's social impact efforts. By dedicating this prime location to the Fab Foundation, BXP aims to demonstrate innovative ways developers can address community needs, particularly within the Cambridge and Kendall Square area.
