Erickson Senior Living recently acquired a 93.5-acre development site in the Agricultural Reserve, located west of Boynton Beach, for $53.5 million. This significant purchase marks a key step in their ongoing expansion strategy.

Rezoning and Development Plans

The company initiated the rezoning process for the property in 2022 and is currently awaiting approval to develop 1,262 senior living and nursing home units. The proposed plan includes six buildings, each ranging from three to four stories.

Details of the Transaction

The property, situated at 8344 Boynton Beach Blvd. and just west of Florida’s Turnpike, was sold by the William Mazzoni Revocable Trust. The deal was facilitated by Jim Knight of the Knight Group in Delray Beach and Curtis Olschansky of the Olschansky Group.

Erickson Senior Living's Expansion Goals

Erickson Senior Living's acquisition is part of a broader $4 billion national expansion announced in 2023. This expansion aims to develop retirement communities nationwide to meet the needs of retiring baby boomers looking to downsize. According to their website, Erickson's in-house team manages every phase of development, from land acquisition to planning, design, construction, and beyond.
