The company has acquired a 95-acre tract from a long-time owner, which will be transformed into a community of 547 manufactured homes. The homes will be priced between $80,000 and $120,000, significantly lower than the city's average home price of approximately $257,000, as per Zillow.
But it's not just about affordable homes. Empower Communities is also planning to build a range of outdoor amenities spread across five acres. These include a sports bar, a 90-foot pool, a fitness center, basketball courts, and a state-of-the-art soccer field. The goal is to create a community where residents can enjoy a high quality of life without breaking the bank.
San Antonio was chosen as the location for this project due to its population growth and efficient development services. The South Side area, in particular, is experiencing rapid growth with several large-scale developments in the pipeline. This includes a 188-acre project led by Arboretum San Antonio officials and a 500-unit, build-for-rent project by Brooks Development Authority.
