El-Ad Renames $1 Billion Davie Development to The Plaza Davie District

What El-Ad Is Building In Davie

El-Ad National Properties is developing The Plaza Davie District as a three-phase mixed-use community in central Broward County. At full buildout, the project will include five residential towers ranging from 21 to 24 stories. The development is planned for approximately 1,292 rental residences, 36,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space and about 2,650 parking spaces. Cooper Carry is the architecture firm, while Promethean Builders is serving as general contractor.

 

 

What The First Phase Means For Investors

The first phase has reached the topping-out stage, marking the structural completion of the initial residential tower and related infrastructure. The 22-story building will deliver 288 apartments along with the project's initial entry promenade and service roadways. Completion of Phase One is targeted for early 2027. The larger project will continue in phases, creating a substantial multifamily pipeline for Davie as additional towers are developed.

 

 

What The New Name Signals

El-Ad says the rebranding is intended to give the development a more hospitality-driven identity, with the new name also referencing the company's connection to The Plaza Hotel in New York.

Matthew Jeffries, CEO of El-Ad National Properties, said, “The updated name and logo reflect a more intentional, hospitality-driven vision tied directly to The Plaza Davie District.”

That positioning is notable for a large rental project competing for residents in South Florida. Rather than relying only on apartment interiors, the development is being positioned around hospitality-style amenities, retail and shared spaces.

What Residents Will Get

The planned amenity package includes rooftop pools, coworking spaces, pet parks, children's play areas, fitness centers, spa treatment rooms, outdoor kitchens, game lounges and a reservable Sky Lounge. Apartments will feature high-speed internet, smart thermostats, keyless entry and private terraces. The development's location near Interstate 595, Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 75 also provides access to major employment centers, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades.

What The Project Means For Davie

The Plaza Davie District is one of the largest multifamily developments underway in the Davie market and supports the town's broader push toward mixed-use growth. Mayor Judy Paul said the project supports Davie's Residential, Industrial, Social and Export (RISE) District, which is intended to encourage development supporting industries such as international trade, advanced technology and manufacturing. For landlords and investors, the numbers are the main story: 1,292 rental units, 36,000 square feet of retail and five residential towers will create a significant new residential and commercial destination in Davie as construction moves through its next phases.
