Derek Jeter, the legendary former shortstop of the New York Yankees, has put his former penthouse at Trump World Tower in New York City up for sale, with an asking price of $16.5 million. The 5,380-square-foot apartment, conveniently located just 35 minutes from Yankee Stadium, offers a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle Jeter enjoyed during his 20-year career with the Yankees. Listing agent Gisela Vergara of Corcoran, overseeing the sale with colleague Shawn Felker, describes the penthouse as "breathtaking," emphasizing its triple exposure and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Spectacular Views of NYC's Landmarks

Boasting unparalleled views of the city, the penthouse showcases iconic landmarks from every angle, including rivers, bridges, the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, and the Chrysler Building. According to Vergara, the panoramic views are visible from every room, creating an outstanding experience throughout the entire residence. Jeter himself owned the property for over a decade, having purchased it in 2001 for $12.72 million and later selling it in 2012 for $15.5 million to the current owner, an elusive limited liability company.

Celeb-Approved Luxury Living

Vergara notes that the property's celebrity ownership history adds an enticing element to its allure. The stamp of approval from a sports icon like Jeter generates substantial interest, making it a noteworthy topic for social gatherings. The penthouse, completely remodeled, features four bedrooms, an open-plan living, entertaining, and dining area, as well as a separate eat-in kitchen with modern amenities like dual beverage fridges and a central island.

Distinctive Layout and Remodeling

The interior layout divides the bedrooms into two wings, with the primary suite and another bedroom in one wing, and the guest suite and a fourth bedroom (currently utilized as an office) in the other. The primary suite offers East River views and a marble bathroom, enhancing the overall elegance of the residence. Jeter's former home, a symbol of refined taste and luxury, stands as a testament to the athlete's legacy both on and off the baseball field.

Jeter's Legacy Beyond Baseball

Derek Jeter, a five-time World Series champion and recipient of numerous awards during his illustrious career, retired from baseball in 2014. Until the previous year, he held a significant ownership stake in MLB's Miami Marlins. Now, as his former penthouse seeks a new owner, it represents not only a piece of celebrity real estate but also a connection to the enduring legacy of one of baseball's greatest players
