Cain International (“Cain”) and Ennismore, the fast-growing lifestyle and leisure hospitality company, have unveiled the first glimpse of the newly revitalized Delano Miami Beach, set to reopen in late 2025 following an extensive renovation. This marks a significant milestone for the brand, building on its recent global expansion, including the launch of Delano Dubai in October 2024.
Since its inception in 1947, the Delano Miami Beach has been an emblem of Art Deco elegance and Miami's mid-century style. The property underwent a transformative redesign in the 1990s under the visionary hotelier Ian Schrager and designer Philippe Starck, transporting guests into a world of contemporary design, chic sensibility, and whimsical charm. Delano became renowned for its refined yet approachable aesthetic, attracting a loyal clientele to its urban resort setting.
The reimagined Delano will retain its signature entrance—a veil of flowing white curtains leading to luminous spaces influenced by minimalism and contrasts of light and dark. The 171 guestrooms and suites, including poolside Bungalow Suites and Penthouse Suites, will feature a natural, fluid design with bespoke furnishings and oversized windows offering sweeping views of the Miami skyline or Atlantic Ocean. A reconceptualized "Apple a Day" amenity will enhance the guest experience with curated treats in elegant, apple-shaped vessels.
Delano Miami Beach will host four unique dining and bar venues, including a revamped Rose Bar, a storied space once frequented by Hollywood elite. Other highlights include curated retail spaces, versatile event facilities, a state-of-the-art wellness studio, and a luxurious spa offering advanced treatments. The iconic ground-floor pool will return, complemented by a beachfront deck and an additional fourth-floor pool.
The redesign pays homage to Delano’s Art Deco heritage through meticulous restoration of historical features such as terrazzo flooring, vertical paint bands, and the hexagonal columns in the lobby. Elastic Architects, working with Ennismore's design team, has seamlessly blended these elements with contemporary aesthetics, reimagining spaces like the mezzanine bridge to preserve sightlines to the gardens and pool.
Delano’s global footprint continues to grow. In October 2024, Delano Dubai opened with 251 guest rooms and six dining concepts, including the iconic Rose Bar and Blue Door restaurant. In 2023, the Maison Delano concept launched in Paris, adapting the brand’s ethos to an urban social hub.
In 2023, Ennismore partnered with Cain International to expand the Delano brand. Cain acquired a minority stake in the Delando brand, and will continue to collaborate with Ennismore to support Delano’s global growth and deliver its current expansion pipeline, including Seoul, Istanbul, and Cartagena, with several other locations under negotiation.
