What The Renovated Delano Brings Back To Miami Beach
After six years of closure and a $100 million renovation, the iconic Delano Miami Beach has officially reopened with a major hospitality and dining refresh. Originally built in 1947 and internationally recognized after its high-profile 1995 redesign, the hotel has long been associated with Miami Beach’s luxury nightlife and celebrity culture. The reopening marks a significant moment for South Beach hospitality as the property re-enters a highly competitive luxury market. The updated property now features two internationally recognized restaurant concepts making their first U.S. appearance: Gigi Rigolatto and Mimi Kakushi.
What The New Restaurant Concepts Offer
Gigi Rigolatto, located on the hotel’s ground floor, is a Mediterranean and Italian-inspired restaurant with indoor dining, terrace seating, poolside service, beach cabanas, and retail components. The concept already operates in global luxury destinations including Paris, Dubai, Saint-Tropez, Rome, and Bodrum. Its Miami menu focuses on lighter coastal Italian dishes, fresh seafood, pasta, cocktails, and classic aperitivo culture. Mimi Kakushi, meanwhile, brings a more private and exclusive experience. Inspired by 1920s Osaka, the Japanese concept occupies the hotel’s fourth floor and is only accessible to hotel guests and Delano Members Club members. The venue features elevated Japanese cuisine alongside a globally recognized cocktail program tied to its award-winning Dubai location.
What The Hospitality Partnership Signals
The restaurant concepts were launched through a partnership with French hospitality group Paris Society, marking the company’s entry into the U.S. market. The move reflects a broader trend in luxury hospitality where hotels increasingly rely on globally recognized food-and-beverage brands to differentiate properties and create destination-driven experiences. Rather than functioning as standalone restaurants, these venues are integrated into the broader identity and positioning of the Delano brand itself.
What This Means For Miami Beach Hospitality
The reopening of Delano Miami Beach reinforces the continued strength of luxury hospitality investment in South Florida. Miami Beach has seen a wave of repositionings, renovations, and branded hospitality concepts aimed at capturing both tourism demand and affluent lifestyle-driven consumers. By pairing a historic property with internationally established dining brands, the Delano is attempting to reclaim its role as a major social and cultural anchor within South Beach’s luxury hospitality scene. The property also continues the growing trend of blending hotel, members club, nightlife, and culinary experiences into a single hospitality ecosystem.
What The Repositioning Says About Luxury Hotels
The redesigned Delano reflects how legacy luxury hotels are evolving beyond traditional accommodations. Modern hospitality projects increasingly compete on experience, exclusivity, wellness, dining, and social programming rather than simply room inventory. Features like private club access, destination restaurants, curated cocktail programs, and branded lifestyle experiences are now central revenue drivers. For Miami Beach, the reopening adds another high-profile hospitality asset to a market already experiencing strong luxury tourism and investment activity.
