Dubai-based developer DAMAC Properties has announced the sales launch of The Delmore, a 12-story, 37-unit luxury condominium at 8777 Collins Avenue in Surfside, Florida—the site of the tragic Champlain Towers South collapse in June 2021. This marks DAMAC's first ground-up development in the U.S., with units starting at $15 million.

Site History and Safety Considerations

The Champlain Towers South collapse in June 2021 resulted in 98 fatalities. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been investigating the causes of the collapse and has not yet released its final report. Some family members of the victims have expressed concerns about the new development proceeding before the investigation concludes and have called for prioritizing safety and the incorporation of a memorial to honor the lives lost.
