Construction on 204 4th Avenue, a 13-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn, is nearing completion. The building, which is being developed by Avery Hall and Gindi Capital, was designed by L+Z Architecture

The project in numbers: The 200,000-square-foot structure will feature 193 rental units and 14,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Leeding Builders Group is overseeing construction on this half-acre rectangular property, known by the alternate address 655 Union Street, bordered by Sackett Street to the north and Raul Vasquez Jr. Place to the south.

Current status: The building has emerged above street level, with workers currently reaching the 13th floor. The final columns, walls, and ceiling for the roof parapet are about to be poured.

The final look: Renderings from Avery Hall's website showcase a simple rectangular structure with setbacks on the upper levels, creating lush landscaped terraces. The exterior walls are composed of dark gray paneling and a grid of floor-to-ceiling windows. The first story features a double-height ceiling span housing the residential lobby and retail space, with the main entrance located on the southern elevation beneath a protruding sidewalk canopy.

The facilities: Residents will enjoy various amenities, including an outdoor rooftop swimming pool, an indoor lounge, a coworking space, a children’s playroom, a fitness center, a pet washing station, tenant storage, and a bike storage room.

Anticipated for completion in January 2025, 204 4th Avenue is on track to meet its scheduled timeline, as noted on site.
