Construction Finishes at 2-story Commercial Building on the Corner of Wythe Ave. & N. 1st St.

Construction has been completed on 276 Bedford Avenue, a two-story commercial building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The building was designed by DJLU Architects and is situated on a 2,736-square-foot lot at the corner of Wythe Avenue and North 1st Street. Tri State Commercial is in charge of leasing and marketing the divisible retail space.

The project: The building has three floors, with 2,500 square feet on the cellar level, around 2,400 square feet on the ground level with 120 feet of street frontage, and just under 3,000 square feet on the second level, which will feature skylights for additional natural light exposure. The site was vacant as late as 2021 before construction commenced.

The aesthetics: The façade of the building is composed of earth-toned brick with trapezoidal floor-to-ceiling windows on the first level, standard rectangular windows on the second floor, and a strip of light-red paneling lined with black borders that runs up along the corners and stretches across the parapet. A small mechanical bulkhead is situated toward the western side of the flat roof.

A series of small downward-pointing light fixtures will illuminate the vertical slits in between the windows on the first floor, adding a distinctive appearance to the façade at night.

Location, location, location: The building is located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a vibrant and rapidly developing neighborhood. The building is close to a variety of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. The building is also well-served by public transportation, with the L train at the Bedford Avenue station just a few blocks away.

Some construction barriers and fencing remain around the property, but should be removed in the coming weeks.
