Construction on the 98 Dekalb Avenue residential skyscraper in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is nearing its peak. The 610-foot-tall, 49-story building, designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, will include 609 residential units and 3,775 square feet of commercial space, spanning a total area of 418,092 square feet. The building, also known as 180 Ashland Place, is situated at the corner of Dekalb Avenue and Ashland Place.
Since the last update in December, significant progress has been made on the reinforced concrete superstructure. Initially, only the podium and the first few tower levels were complete, but now work on the mechanical bulkhead has begun. The façade installation, consisting of floor-to-ceiling glass and horizontal metal bands, has reached above the midsection and is expected to enclose the entire structure by summer's end.
The skyscraper features an exterior design of floor-to-ceiling glass complemented by horizontal metal bands. However, the narrow eastern and western sides of the building remain unfinished, and their final design is yet to be revealed.
The property is conveniently located near several subway lines. The B, Q, and R trains are accessible at the Dekalb Avenue station, while the G train can be reached at the Fulton Street station.
Project Timeline
