A sprawling 104-acre estate in Missouri, built by former MLB star Cole Hamels, is up for sale for $14.5 million. However, there's a twist— the massive mansion on the property is not yet complete.
History of the Property
Cole Hamels initiated the construction of the mega-mansion in West Branson in 2016 while he was with the Texas Rangers. He and his wife initially put the property up for sale in 2017 but handed it over unfinished to Camp Barnabas, a Christian summer camp for children with disabilities. In 2021, the property was bought by Samuel and Simona Bodea, owners of SS Express, an Arizona-based trucking company.
Transformation by Current Owners
The Bodeas conducted significant renovation work over three years, turning the 14-bedroom, 15-bath main residence into a luxury event space. They currently reside in a separate five-bedroom, six-bath annex.
Renovations and Features
Updates made by the Bodeas include underground plumbing, new electrical systems, and the addition of a sinuous, tiered infinity swimming pool. The main floor boasts a spacious 2,000 square feet kitchen and various custom touches like exposed beams and wood-trimmed casement windows.
Unique Automation Features
The house is fully automated, allowing for voice commands to control functions like water temperature in showers. Other custom features include barrel ceilings and wood-trimmed casement windows and doors.
Almost Complete
According to Samuel Bodea, the estate is nearly finished, but new owners can continue to customize it according to their preferences. He emphasizes that the property is suitable for realizing any dream, regardless of size.
