Dallas-based CBRE Group Inc. has acquired Direct Line Global, a provider of essential data center infrastructure services, from Guardian Capital. This acquisition aligns with CBRE's strategy to enhance its capabilities in sectors benefiting from the increasing digitization of the global economy.

Complementary Expertise

CBRE Chief Operating Officer Vikram Kohli stated that Direct Line Global's technical expertise complements CBRE’s existing data center management capabilities, offering a unique service differentiation. The terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed.

Direct Line Global’s Market Focus

Founded in 1997, Direct Line Global specializes in the design, installation, maintenance, and management of data center solutions, primarily serving large technology companies. It operates mainly in the U.S., focusing on the hyperscale, co-location, and enterprise market segments.

Expanding Data Center Support Market

The global market for data center support services, valued at $30 billion, is expected to grow by 16% annually through 2028. By integrating Direct Line Global's technical services with its own facilities management, CBRE aims to deliver unmatched integrated data center solutions.

CEO Insights and Growth Potential

Bill Nelligan, CEO of Direct Line Global, highlighted the benefits of joining CBRE, including significant growth opportunities, especially overseas, facilitated by CBRE's global platform. Under Nelligan's leadership since 2021, the company has expanded significantly, now employing over 1,000 people with major operations in northern Virginia and other international locations.

Integration into CBRE’s Structure

Direct Line Global will become part of CBRE’s Data Centers Solutions business, within the Global Workplace Solutions segment, leveraging CBRE's extensive resources and market presence to drive further growth and innovation in data center services.
