  • Brookfield Properties has unveiled renderings for The Market Hall at 398 Tenth Ave., New York, NY 10001, within the Manhattan West development.
  • The 34,000-square-foot, two-level food hall will feature 12 dining concepts, a full-service restaurant, indoor and rooftop bars, plus new retail and service offerings.
  • The Market Hall is expected to open this fall, replacing the former Citizens Market Hall with a new multi-vendor concept focused on local food operators.

What the New Market Hall Will Include

Brookfield Properties has revealed new renderings for The Market Hall, a redesigned food hall taking shape at 398 Tenth Ave., New York, NY 10001, inside Five Manhattan West in Midtown West. The two-level venue will span more than 34,000 square feet and serve as a new dining destination within the larger Manhattan West mixed-use campus. Plans call for 12 casual dining concepts, an independent full-service restaurant, a full-service indoor bar, and a rooftop terrace bar. In addition to its food and beverage offerings, the project will introduce new retail and service tenants, creating a more diverse experience for office workers, residents, and visitors. The venue will be accessible from both Tenth Avenue and the Manhattan West Plaza, providing convenient entry from multiple sides of the development.

What Makes This Redevelopment Different

The new Market Hall replaces the former Citizens Market Hall, a roughly 40,000-square-foot food hall that opened with Manhattan West in 2021 before closing in April 2025. Rather than relying on a single operator, Brookfield is repositioning the space with a multi-vendor concept inspired by the success of Hudson Eats at Brookfield Place. The new approach emphasizes independently owned food vendors, giving local restaurant operators an opportunity to reach one of Manhattan's busiest commercial districts while offering visitors a wider variety of dining options. Construction on both the interior and exterior renovations is already well underway.

What This Means for Manhattan West

The Market Hall marks the first major addition to the Manhattan West campus since the completion of Two Manhattan West in 2024, which finalized Brookfield's $4.5 billion, 7-million-square-foot mixed-use development. As more office workers return to Midtown and neighborhood activity continues to grow, Brookfield's investment reflects the increasing demand for high-quality food, beverage, and retail experiences within mixed-use developments. The new food hall is expected to become a central gathering place for employees, residents, tourists, and visitors exploring Manhattan West.

What Happens Next

Brookfield Properties expects The Market Hall to open this fall, introducing a refreshed lineup of local dining concepts and expanding the retail offerings within one of Midtown West's largest mixed-use destinations. Once completed, the venue will add another amenity to the Manhattan West campus while strengthening its position as a destination for dining, entertainment, and everyday services.
