Blackstone to Invest $160M to Restore Hotel del Coronado, in San Diego, CA

The iconic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego has announced its ambitious plans for a comprehensive restoration and revitalization project. 

What to expect from the upcoming renovation phase: This final phase of development, representing a more than $160 million investment, is part of Blackstone Real Estate's commitment to preserving and enhancing the historic Victorian building. The renovation will encompass all Victorian guestrooms, suites, and event spaces, including the renowned Crown Room, with a target completion date set for spring 2025.

Blackstone’s previous work at the hotel: Blackstone Real Estate has been dedicated to the preservation of The Del, recognized as a National Historic Landmark, as well as solidifying its status as an enduring and iconic destination for generations to come. Over the past few years, Blackstone has invested more than $550 million in the property, and this latest phase represents the culmination of their development plan. 

The vision that brought the renovation to life: Harold Rapoza, Managing Director of Hotel del Coronado, emphasized the special place that the Victorian building holds in the hearts of their guests. He reiterated the hotel's commitment to preserving the historical significance of the structure while simultaneously elevating the guest experience to new heights. The Hotel del Coronado's restoration project is set to breathe new life into this iconic landmark and further solidify its status as a cherished and timeless destination.
