BlackRock is expanding its headquarters at 50 Hudson Yards, increasing its office space by over 50,000 square feet. The tower, which opened in late 2022, is nearly fully occupied with notable tenants like Meta Platforms and Truist Financial. BlackRock initially secured its spot as an anchor tenant years before the building's completion.
Oxford Properties, along with its parent company Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS), is moving its office to 50 Hudson Yards from 450 Park Ave. The new office will be about 14% larger. Oxford, a partner in the Hudson Yards development, sees this move as essential for attracting and retaining top talent by providing world-class, amenity-rich workspaces focused on employee wellness.
Despite the challenges posed by the rise in remote work, demand for high-quality office spaces in Manhattan remains strong. Tenants are particularly interested in newly constructed or renovated buildings. For instance, TPG is close to securing offices at the Spiral, another new tower near Hudson Yards. Similarly, in Midtown, buildings near Grand Central Terminal are highly favored. Recent deals include Paul Singer’s Elliott Investment Management moving to 280 Park Ave and Blackstone expanding its headquarters on Park Avenue.
