Baccarat Residences has received a site work permit from the Miami’s Building Department for the site in Brickell, where excavation for pre-historic artifacts has been carried out.
The details: The permit covers excavation, piles, and site and soil improvement, with an estimated value of $1.5 million. Around 150 archaeologists were reportedly working at the site daily at one point last year.
On September 12, the city’s Historic & Environmental Preservation reviewer approved the site work plans after three rounds of corrections. Subsequently, on September 18, the Building Department approved and issued the permit after receiving approval from all other reviewers. The permit application was submitted in April, and it took approximately five months to be approved.
John Moriarty is the contractor responsible for this project.
The building: The Baccarat tower is planned to rise 848 feet above ground level or 852 feet above sea level. Once completed, it will be taller than any other condo tower currently in Miami. The permit for vertical construction of Baccarat is still undergoing the approval process.
The neighbor: Adjacent to the Baccarat site, another tower with 44 stories is already under construction. This tower is expected to feature 506 apartments.
