Construction is steadily progressing on Thrive, a new supportive residential project at 273 Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank, New Jersey. The three-story building is being designed by CPA Architecture and developed by Parents With A Plan. Once complete, the 34,000-square-foot development will provide 32 one-bedroom rental apartments specifically designed for adults with autism. Five of the apartments will be designated as affordable housing units. The development will also include a 923-square-foot office for the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services on the ground floor. The property is located at the intersection of Shrewsbury Avenue and Dr. James Parker Boulevard.

What the Building Design Focuses On

Renderings show a modern residential structure featuring a mix of recessed and protruding building volumes finished with white metal paneling, wood accents, and black-trimmed windows. The design also incorporates extended architectural framing elements with integrated lighting features, while the ground floor will include brick finishes and large glass storefront-style windows. The entrance is positioned along the Shrewsbury Avenue frontage, and plans also include garage access along the northern portion of the property. The site previously housed a two-story commercial building before demolition and redevelopment activity began.
