Argent Development to Transform Former Sacramento Kings' 183-acre Arena into Mixed-use Community

Argent Development has purchased the former Sacramento Kings basketball arena complex located in northwest Sacramento. The company plans to transform this 183-acre site into a mixed-use community. While the financial details of the sale remain confidential, the vision for the redevelopment is expansive and inclusive.

Innovation Park in Natomas District

The site, now referred to as Innovation Park, is situated in Sacramento’s Natomas district. This area previously hosted the Sleep Train Arena (initially known as ARCO Arena), which served as the Kings' home from 1988 until their relocation to the Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento in 2016. The arena was demolished in 2022 to pave the way for new development.

Diverse Residential Options

Innovation Park will feature a variety of residential units, including single-family detached homes, townhomes, condominiums, and apartments. A significant aspect of this development is the commitment to affordability, with at least 10% of the housing units designated as affordable housing.

Comprehensive Community Facilities

In addition to residential spaces, Innovation Park will host a range of community facilities. This includes a medical campus featuring a teaching hospital managed by the California Northstate University School of Medicine. Educational needs will be catered to with a K-8 public school, while retail and commercial spaces will offer shopping and business opportunities. The development also includes nearly 25 acres of parkland and various other public infrastructure and facilities to support a vibrant community.
