Aldi Expands US Presence with New Portage Park, Chicago Location

Excavation has commenced for a new Aldi grocery store, set to be located at 3930 N Kilpatrick Avenue in Portage Park, Chicago. Aldi Inc. is the owner of this retail project, which will feature a single-story structure spanning 21,000 square feet, occupying what was once an empty lot.

The aesthetics: The architectural design, crafted by APD Engineering & Architecture, includes a gracefully curved entrance on the southern side, adorned with materials like white fiber cement, metal, and masonry elements. This lighter and modern design will harmonize with the masonry aesthetics of Clarendale Six Corners, a recently opened senior living facility situated to the northwest.

How to get there: A brand-new parking lot with 70 spaces, including accessible options, will be positioned on the property's western side. For those who rely on public transportation, the store is conveniently within walking distance of bus services for Routes 54, 54A, 56, and 80. Additionally, the CTA L Blue Line can be reached via a 16-minute stroll to the Montrose Avenue station.
