Michael serves as Sukut’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, leading one of the largest heavy civil and earth-moving contractors in Southern California. Since joining the company as an intern in 1980, Michael has advanced through several key roles, including project engineer, estimator, project manager, and general superintendent, before being named president in 1990, CEO in 1999, and chairman in 2011. Under his leadership, Sukut has grown its footprint across the United States and earned numerous industry awards and recognitions. Michael is an influential voice in the construction industry, having served on the Southern California Contractors Association board since 1998 and as its president in 2003. He has also held leadership roles with organizations such as the Beavers (serving as president in 2020), the Construction Industry Air Quality Coalition, American Contractors Insurance Group, the Operating Engineers, Local 12 Trust Funds, the Southern California Construction Industry Trust Funds, among others.
