I’m the founder and CEO of EquiShares, a real estate investment firm I started back in 2002 with a simple but powerful goal: find underutilized properties and bring out their full potential. My journey in real estate began as a property manager, overseeing a 600 unit multifamily portfolio across New York City’s five boroughs. It was hands on, gritty work but it gave me an incredible foundation in how properties really operate. A couple of years later, I joined CB Richard Ellis as a commercial broker, where I focused on acquisitions and dispositions. I learned a ton, but I knew I wanted to be on the ownership side, creating value through vision, systems, and execution. That led me to launch EquiShares. From day one, the strategy has been clear: identify properties that aren’t being run to their highest and best use, implement smart systems, and roll up our sleeves to transform them. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of leading dozens of these projects, managing everything from acquisition to repositioning to exit, on behalf of our partners and investor groups.
