Coral Gables is preparing to welcome its first Italian food hall with the upcoming opening of Zuccaly at The Plaza Coral Gables. Located at 111 Palermo Avenue, Suite 112, the new concept will occupy approximately 8,000 square feet and provide seating for 200 guests. The project is being operated by Da Silva Hospitality Group and is expected to open during the summer of 2026. The opening adds another dining destination to The Plaza Coral Gables, one of South Florida's largest mixed-use developments and a growing hub for retail, office, hospitality, and residential activity.
Zuccaly will bring six culinary concepts together under one roof, creating a dining experience that allows guests to explore multiple Italian specialties in a single visit. Guests will find Pasta and Risotto serving freshly made pasta dishes and traditional recipes, while LaBiga Pizza and Focaccia will focus on Roman-style pizza al taglio crafted with slow-fermented dough. The Grilling Steaks and Fish station will prepare meats and seafood over charcoal and live-wood fires, while Il Giardino will offer fresh salads and Italian street food designed for sharing or takeaway. The venue will also feature PortaVia Gastromarket, a deli and grab-and-go concept offering prepared foods, specialty products, fresh burrata, Wagyu carpaccio, and house-made sauces. For dessert, Dolci will serve artisanal sweets and house-made gelato, including tiramisu variations, bomboloni, and other Italian favorites. The format is designed to appeal to a wide range of guests, whether they are looking for a quick lunch, a full dinner, or a casual gathering with friends and family.
The interior design draws inspiration from the Tuscan countryside, blending warm yellows, earthy oranges, and deep greens throughout the space. Open culinary stations and glowing ovens will serve as focal points, allowing guests to watch food preparation while moving through the venue. The design aims to create an immersive atmosphere that combines traditional Italian influences with the energy of a modern food hall. The culinary program will be led by Chef Manuel Garcia, who has overseen the kitchen at Zucca for the past nine years. Under his leadership, the menu is designed to showcase regional Italian flavors while maintaining a balance between traditional recipes and contemporary dining preferences. A dedicated coffee program will also offer espresso beverages and cold coffee drinks throughout the day. To attract residents and professionals working nearby, the venue will host a weekday 2-for-1 happy hour from Monday through Friday, creating another reason for repeat visits after work.
