Tri Pointe Adds Two Northwest Houston Communities
Tri Pointe Homes is expanding across northwest Houston with two new residential communities in Cypress and Tomball. The builder plans 362 homes at Azalea Trails, while Oakhill Reserve, a 100-acre development, has opened for buyers. Both communities are located in the growing northwest Houston region and are zoned to Tomball ISD. Tri Pointe Houston Division President Joe Mandola said the company is focusing on locations that combine regional connectivity with room for residential growth.
Azalea Trails Offers Two Home Collections
Azalea Trails is located off Cypress Rose Hill Road, just south of the Grand Parkway and north of Highway 290, approximately 31 miles northwest of downtown Houston. The development will feature two collections with different lot sizes, floor plans, and pricing. At Cascade at Azalea Trails, homes will sit on 50-foot-wide lots and range from 2,280 to 2,972 square feet, with prices starting in the mid-$400,000s. Amethyst at Azalea Trails will offer 60-foot-wide lots and homes ranging from 3,039 to 3,796 square feet, starting in the mid-$500,000s. Planned amenities include a recreation center, fitness center, swimming pool, playground, putting green, and walking trails.
Oakhill Reserve Brings 100 Acres of Homes and Amenities to Tomball
Located just north of FM 2920 off Decker Prairie Rosehill Road, Oakhill Reserve is set among mature oak trees and will offer homes on 45- and 50-foot-wide lots. Floor plans will range from 2,128 to 2,688 square feet, with prices starting in the high $300,000s and exceeding $600,000. The community’s planned amenities include an open-air recreation center, outdoor fireplace, resort-style pool, pickleball courts, playground, and walking trails around community lakes. Tri Pointe’s expansion comes as the builder continues to pursue larger Houston-area projects. The company, alongside Toll Brothers, acquired eight tracts along Telge Road north of the Grand Parkway for a planned 919-home community. Tri Pointe is also developing Evergrove, a 911-acre Richmond-area community planned for 1,655 homes near FM 723 and Old Pecan Road.
Tri Pointe’s New Ownership
Tri Pointe Homes, headquartered in Incline Village, Nevada, operates in 13 states and the District of Columbia. The company was acquired earlier this year by Sumitomo Forestry Co., adding a major national homebuilder to the Japanese company’s residential portfolio. For Houston-area housing investors, the two communities reflect continued homebuilder expansion into northwest suburbs, with a range of price points, lot sizes, and amenity packages aimed at different buyer segments.
