Simon Property Group, a leading real estate investment trust, is taking a futuristic leap in enhancing the shopping experience at its properties. The company is deploying teams of "helper elves," equipped with an innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-based gift finder tool, at select locations.

AI Technology Meets Holiday Shopping

Starting on Black Friday, November 24, these AI-powered "helper elves" will be stationed at prominent Simon properties in New York and Los Angeles. The elves, armed with ChatGPT 4.0-powered “HolidAI” gift finding technology, will be ready to assist shoppers in finding the perfect gifts from a customized database of retailer-specific gift ideas.

Engaging Shoppers with AI-Powered Conversations

The helper elves will be strategically positioned across the shopping centers to engage shoppers in AI-generated conversations. Using computer tablets, they will guide shoppers through a series of predictively personalized questions to help pinpoint the ideal in-mall gift ideas. When not assisting shoppers, the elves will entertain with impromptu singing and dancing performances.

Simon's HolidAI Gift Finder Experience

The HolidAI Gift Finder experience will be available every Saturday and Sunday from November 24 through December 23, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. local time, at Roosevelt Field in Garden City, N.Y., and Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, Calif. Simon's chief marketing officer, Lee Sterling, expressed excitement about the initiative, stating that it would make the holiday shopping experience extra special and easier for busy shoppers.

Simon's Commitment to Enhancing Shopping Experiences

This initiative follows Simon's expansion of its Simon Search platform to The Mills and Premium Outlets properties in May 2023. The search platform allows shoppers to research in-stock products at participating retailers within a Simon property.
