A recent acquisition by a subsidiary of Platform Ventures has made headlines. The acquisition involves a sizable 400,000-square-foot cold storage facility located in Burleson. This facility was constructed at a cost of $50 million and is intended to bolster the storage capacity of Platform Ventures' operating unit, Vertical Cold Storage. This move aligns with the company's commitment to enhancing services for its clientele.

Features and Operations

Situated conveniently adjacent to I-35, the newly acquired property boasts an average clear height of 55 feet and is equipped with 53 dock doors. Additionally, it offers the flexibility of multiple rooms that can be converted to temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. With plans to employ up to 70 full-time workers, the facility promises to be a significant contributor to the local economy.

Development and Partnership

The development of this expansive cold storage facility was undertaken through a joint venture involving Austin-based Yukon Ventures and Saxum Real Estate from Summit, New Jersey. This collaboration underscores the strategic cooperation between various entities to realize ambitious projects in the commercial real estate sector.

Expansion and Reach

Vertical Cold Storage, established in 2020, has been steadily expanding its footprint across several states. Currently, it operates facilities not only in Texas but also in Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina, Florida, and Indiana. Moreover, the company has a project underway in Kansas City, further solidifying its commitment to growth and service expansion in key markets.
