NewcrestImage Refreshes Plano Hotel Asset
NewcrestImage has completed the transformation of the former NYLO Dallas Plano into The Clara Hotel Plano, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The 176-key hotel is now operating under Hilton’s lifestyle-focused brand following a full renovation and rebranding. The opening reflects a strategy of repositioning existing hospitality assets to attract business travelers, leisure guests and event bookings. The Clara’s location in Plano’s Legacy District places it within a major mixed-use hub of corporate offices, retail, dining and residential development.
Renovation Adds Lifestyle Amenities and Event Space
The Clara Hotel spans five floors and offers amenities designed to support overnight stays and social gatherings. Its 2,000 square feet of flexible event space can accommodate meetings and weddings. The hotel features a fitness center, sauna and outdoor heated pool. Dining is anchored by Field & Vine, which offers a seasonal menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and wine pairings. A new cocktail bar and evening lounge adds another gathering space, with warm wood finishes, leather seating and low lighting. For hotel owners, renovation and brand conversion can help reposition an existing property without the timeline and cost of ground-up construction. The performance of the asset will depend on whether the new brand and amenities translate into stronger occupancy, room rates and event revenue.
Legacy District Location Draws Corporate and Visitor Demand
The hotel is located in Plano’s Legacy District, a walkable, approximately five-square-mile master-planned mixed-use center. The surrounding area includes corporate headquarters, residential communities, restaurants, retail and entertainment destinations. Nearby demand generators include The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ 91-acre headquarters and entertainment campus; Toyota Stadium, a 21,000-seat soccer venue; and the University of Texas at Dallas, which enrolls approximately 30,000 students. Toyota Motor North American’s headquarters is also nearby, with a workforce of about 4,000. These anchors provide a diverse demand base spanning corporate travel, sports, university-related visits and events.
Hilton Rebranding Positions Asset for Continued Competition
NewcrestImage acquired the hotel in August 2025, when it operated as NYLO Dallas Plano. The Clara’s debut under Hilton’s Tapestry Collection gives the property a new identity while retaining its established location in the Legacy District. The project underscores the potential of hotel renovations and brand conversions in established business and mixed-use districts. For investors, the opportunity is to modernize an existing asset and align it with a broader hospitality platform, while keeping a close eye on operating costs and market competition.
