My Place Hotels has officially entered the Florida market with the opening of My Place Hotel – Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda, located along the Interstate 75 corridor at Kings Highway. Positioned between Fort Myers and Tampa, the property serves a growing market that has experienced increasing demand for extended-stay accommodations. The 63-room hotel is the first newly built lodging property to open in the area in more than five years. It also becomes one of only two extended-stay hotels serving the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda submarket, giving business travelers, relocating families, and long-term visitors another lodging option as the region continues to grow.

What Guests Can Expect

The new hotel offers the standard amenities found across the My Place Hotels brand, including fully equipped in-room kitchens, guest laundry facilities, a business center, and the My Store convenience shop. Guests will also benefit from the property's location, with more than 20 restaurants and dining options located within a half-mile of the hotel. The building was designed with Florida's climate in mind, incorporating a flat roof that improves storm resistance and operational efficiency while maintaining the brand's modern architectural style.

What the Development Means for the Market

Development of the project began in 2022, with construction starting in 2025. The hotel was developed by Legacy Development LLC, designed by The Richardson Design Partnership and Legacy Design Group, and is owned by PCMP 23 LLC. Day-to-day operations will be managed by Legacy Management LLC. Company leaders believe the opening addresses a long-standing shortage of extended-stay accommodations in the market. As Southwest Florida continues to attract new residents, infrastructure projects, and business investment, demand for longer-term lodging options is expected to remain strong. The opening also represents an important milestone for My Place Hotels, which plans to continue expanding across Florida with three additional hotel developments already underway.
