Floating Pickleball Comes to SoLé Mia
Located at 2251 NE 146th Street, North Miami, FL 3318, SoLé Mia has officially unveiled what developers say is the largest floating pickleball court and the first floating court at a residential property. Developed by Oleta Partners, the joint venture between LeFrak and Turnberry, the custom-built court floats on Laguna SoLé, the community's seven-acre Crystal Lagoon, creating a one-of-a-kind recreational experience for residents. The amenity is available exclusively to residents and their accompanied guests.
What the New Amenity Includes
Constructed by Inflatable Island, the floating court measures 69 feet by 33 feet and accommodates both singles and doubles play. The court features custom SoLé Mia branding across its playing surface and is open Friday through Sunday, weather permitting. Residents receive paddles, balls, and life jackets as part of the experience, with one-hour sessions managed by the community's lifeguard team. The vibrant blue playing surface was designed to blend with the Crystal Lagoon's turquoise waters.
Expanding a Wellness-Focused Community
The floating pickleball court joins a growing collection of lifestyle amenities throughout SoLé Mia. Residents also have access to The Loop, an expanded trail system connecting to Oleta River State Park and FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus, Reserve Padel at SoLé Mia, featuring indoor and outdoor courts alongside wellness facilities and Pura Vida, plus UHealth SoLé Mia, the University of Miami Health System's 363,000-square-foot outpatient medical campus. The community also includes parks, dog parks, jogging trails, retail, dining, and the Crystal Lagoon's sandy beach.
A $4 Billion Community Continues to Grow
Located between Biscayne Boulevard and Biscayne Bay, SoLé Mia spans 184 acres and is planned as a $4 billion master-planned community. More than 1,000 residents already live within the development across The Shoreline, Villa Solé, Villa Laguna, and ONE Park Tower. Future phases include additional residential buildings, retail, restaurants, and Mater Academy SoLé Mia, a new K-5 charter school.
What This Means for North Miami
Lifestyle amenities continue to play a major role in differentiating South Florida's master-planned communities. By introducing the country's first floating residential pickleball court, LeFrak and Turnberry are further positioning SoLé Mia as one of Miami-Dade County's most amenity-rich mixed-use developments, combining housing, healthcare, recreation, education, and outdoor living into a single walkable destination.
