J. Safra Real Estate, the real estate arm of The J. Safra Group, is set to acquire the iconic Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston.

A Landmark Acquisition

With its rich history and spanning over 365,000 square feet, this retail and office complex has caught the attention of Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp., the current owner. Building on their impressive track record, J. Safra Real Estate sees immense potential in this high-profile landmark, marking a significant milestone for both parties involved.

This notable property came under Ashkenazy's ownership in 2011, following their successful acquisition of the ground lease from General Growth Properties. Valued at $140 million, the deal was a substantial investment. Ashkenazy not only secured the property but also took on the responsibility of the $98 million CMBS loan from Banc of America Commercial Mortgage Trust.

Under a long-term lease arrangement dating back to the mid-1970s, the Faneuil Hall Marketplace is subject to a 99-year unsubordinated net ground lease held by the Boston Planning & Development Agency.
