Maliassas is a global hospitality executive with 30 years of experience in chief operating officer and senior leadership roles, driving operational performance and enterprise value across large, multi-market hotel and resort platforms.

Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Playa Hotels & Resorts, where he led operations across 24 high-end all-inclusive resorts representing nearly 10,000 rooms and approximately 15,000 employees. During his tenure, he played a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, improving margins, and increasing guest satisfaction. The company, listed on NASDAQ, generated close to $1 billion in annual revenue and was acquired by Hyatt Corporation for $2.6 billion in June 2025. He remained involved post-acquisition to support integration and transition efforts.

Throughout his career, Maliassas has worked closely with boards, investors, and executive teams across operations, brand strategy, capital markets, M&A, and corporate governance, consistently delivering long-term value in both public and private sectors.
