Brian Villa has been appointed Chief Investment Officer of McDowell Housing Partners, where he leads both the finance and legal departments while collaborating with the firm’s principals and department leaders to drive strategic growth and operational initiatives.

Villa brings nearly two decades of real estate investment experience and plays a key role in advancing the company’s mission to deliver high-quality affordable housing. In his role, he oversees transaction execution, portfolio management, and relationships with financing partners.

Prior to joining McDowell Housing Partners, Villa served as Chief Investment Officer at a Midwest-based affordable housing developer. He also held the position of General Counsel for a LIHTC syndicator, where he managed transaction closings, supported internal departments on legal matters, and served as secretary of the investment committee. Earlier in his career, he practiced corporate and real estate law at a regional law firm.

Villa is actively involved in several industry organizations, including the Indiana State Bar Association, the ABA Affordable Housing Forum, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. He also serves on the board of the CREA Foundation.
