Braden Smith has been named President of OptimumBank, stepping into a key leadership role as the bank positions for its next phase of growth.
Smith most recently served as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer at Amerant Bank, where he focused on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and supporting growth initiatives across the bank.
He joined Amerant in 2024 following a long tenure at Wintrust Private Client, where he served as Vice Chairman. Across more than 25 years in financial services, Smith has worked closely with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and institutions on banking and advisory relationships.
At OptimumBank, Smith will partner with CEO Moishe Gubin as the bank continues to build out its leadership team and expand its presence in South Florida. His appointment follows the retirement of longtime executive Timothy Terry.
The hire reflects ongoing movement of senior talent across the regional banking landscape as institutions compete for growth and market share.
