Susan Kahaner joined Avison Young in 2015 as a Senior Director based in the firm’s New York City office. She advises her clients on their occupancy, focusing on tenant representation for large corporations and not-for-profit organizations. Kahaner utilizes her experience creating customized occupancy solutions for her clients, locating ways to increase efficiency, while identifying cost savings at ever step. Her dedication to her clients has enabled her to maintain long-term relationships throughout her career.
Kahaner recently represented Steinway & Sons in relocating the 164-year old piano company’s entire showroom and concert center from their long-time West 57th Street brownstone to 1133 Avenue of the Americas into over 40,000 square feet. This transaction was a finalist for REBNY’s Retail Deal of the Year.
Prior to joining Avison Young, Kahaner was a Senior Managing Director with Cushman & Wakefield for three years, where she was a member of the Not-for-Profit Practice Group. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, she was a Senior Vice President with CBRE for 19 years.
Before entering into real estate, Kahaner was a staff writer for Walter Cronkite at CBS.
