Steven Rotter is an Executive Vice Chairman at Newmark’s New York headquarters. Rotter and partner Howard Hersch, Executive Vice Chairman, co-lead the technology/media team of 16 professionals, which has executed over 410 transactions, both tenant and landlord representation, totaling 12M+ SF since 2018. The group is also currently engaged as landlord representatives for properties in New York City totaling 5.6M SF. Rotter has been involved in some of New York’s largest and most complex transactions including AXA Equitable’s 800,000 SF lease restructure at 1290 Avenue of the Americas; The Carlyle Group’s 250,000 SF relocation to One Vanderbilt; and KKR’s expansion at 30 Hudson Yards. Rotter rejoined Newmark after spending 15 years at JLL, most recently serving as Vice Chairman in the Corporate Advisory Services group and co-leading the technology/media team based in New York. Rotter also worked for Golden Gate Financial Group, a San Francisco hedge fund, and owned and managed HomeVestors, a residential rehabilitation company in Chicago.
