About
Saum Sutaria, M.D., became Chief Executive Officer of Tenet in September 2021. He also serves as Chairman on the Tenet Board. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Sutaria was President and Chief Operating Officer of Tenet with responsibilities spanning the enterprise. He joined Tenet in 2019 after working for nearly two decades at McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, Sutaria was a leader in the healthcare and private equity practices, advising clients on strategic, operational and financial matters. Sutaria previously held an associate clinical faculty appointment at the University of California at San Francisco, where he also engaged in postgraduate training with a focus in internal medicine and cardiology. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He also received a bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology and a bachelor's degree in economics, both from the University of California, Berkeley.
