Miles Spencer joined Newmark in 2018 as a vice chairman and founding member of the Lodging Capital Markets group. Based in Newmark’s Washington, DC, office, he focuses on lodging and resort assets located throughout North America and the Caribbean.
Prior to Newmark, Mr. Spencer spent more than 20 years at Eastdil Secured and its predecessor, Eastdil Realty, and was instrumental in the establishment and growth of their offices in Washington, DC, and Dallas. At Eastdil Secured, he focused on a broad range of national transactions, particularly those concerned with lodging. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in over 400 transactions totaling more than $75 billion of equity and debt placement.
Prior to Eastdil Secured, Mr. Spencer worked for five years at Mutual Benefit Life, as a member of a strategic team assigned to the restructuring and liquidation of the firm’s $6 billion real estate investment portfolio.
A St. Louis native, Mr. Spencer earned a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
