With more that 15 years of hands on experience in project management I've been able to understand what I consider the key to ensure projects are successful, and it is this: projects are mainly about people and communication, not systems. Gantt charts, CPM, PERT and many other "systems" and acronyms are great as long as you understand that these are tools to assist in managing a team; the people... No matter what type of project you undertake, it is going to be built, performed or delivered by,and through, people.
