Mike Thomas became President and Chief Executive Officer of John Muir Health in October 2022. Prior to this role, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer at John Muir Health. In that role, he was responsible for the development and execution of health system strategy, value-based care operations, medical group operations, and the health system’s Canopy Health and BayHealth (part of the UCSF Health partnership), UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Network, and Tenet Healthcare joint ventures. Mr. Thomas also served as President and Chief Administrative Officer of John Muir Health–Concord Medical Center and Behavioral Health Center for nine years. Prior to joining John Muir Health, Mr. Thomas served as Executive Officer of VHA West Coast. Before that, he was Chief Strategic Development Officer at UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Children’s Hospital. Mr. Thomas received his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
