Mike is a founding partner of Harrington & McCarthy LLP with over 25 years of experience working as a corporate attorney focused on transactions and general corporate matters.
A big part of Mike’s practice involves transactional work, mainly private investment and M&A transactions, for a variety of private equity, venture capital, hedge fund and institutional investor clients. He also works extensively with portfolio companies and other corporate clients on solving everyday problems, helping them to execute buy and build strategies along the way. Mike also has significant experience working with independent deal sponsors, both directly and through capital providers. In recent years, Mike has completed more than a dozen out of court restructurings and recapitalization transactions.
Prior to forming Harrington & McCarthy LLP, Mike spent 8 years as senior counsel at Proskauer Rose LLP in Boston, where he was a leader of their Private Equity/M&A practice group. Before that, Mike was a partner at Goodwin Procter LLP, having spent 12 years in its corporate department.
