Mauro was born in Brighton, MA to middle-class Italian immigrants and has lived or worked in Brighton his entire life. He attended the local Winship, Garfield, and Edison Schools before graduating from Boston Technical High School and later Northeastern University. He worked as a project/office manager for a family construction business before obtaining his Real Estate Broker's license. After owning and operating Academy Video in Brighton for 13 years he began his real estate career in 1995.
