Marko is the founder and chairman of Volta Global. A real estate developer, entrepreneur, investor, photographer, and author, Marko founded Volta Global with the goal of building a transformational real estate group around a philosophy of creating long-term value for our firm, our employees, and the communities in which we operate. Born and raised in Switzerland, he was early to spot and capitalize on opportunities in European self-storage. At Volta Global Marko oversees global strategy, investments, and capital allocation. Marko spent the early part of his business career managing large securities portfolios in Switzerland and New York. As an entrepreneur, he founded and lead several investment management companies which grew to over $3 billion in assets under management and 50+ employees in the US and Singapore. During that period, Marko was a pioneer of emerging markets investing and was one of the earliest Western investors in China, Russia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia.
