Mark K. Owens is an Executive Vice President* and the Head of Hospitality Capital Markets for CBRE Hotels. He is responsible for the development of the CBRE Hotels Debt & Structured Finance practice and oversees the origination and placement of hospitality related transactions, including debt, equity, joint venture equity and transaction sales.
Since joining CBRE Mark’s been an integral part in building the team’s production, which exceeded $1.6 billion in 2018. His recent iconic transactions include the $100+ million W Washington DC, the $250+ million recapitalization of the Marriott Aruba, and the nearly $300 million refinancing of a sixteen asset Canadian portfolio.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mark ran the hospitality practice at The Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, building the team’s production to in excess of $1 billion in annual transaction volume. In addition to Ackman-Ziff, Mark was a vice president at Sonnenblick Goldman where he closed $3 billion in transactions representing a variety of institutional and opportunistic investors as well as ownership/management companies and also worked at HVS International in its New York office.
