Kevin A. Shannon joined Newmark as co-head of U.S. capital markets in December 2015. Widely considered one of the premier investment sales brokers in the United States, Mr. Shannon leads a team of 33 professionals focused on the disposition and acquisition of investment properties across several asset classes, on behalf of domestic and offshore investors in 16 markets throughout the Western United States. In the course of his 35-plus-year career, he has sold more than $65 billion of office, industrial, self-storage, retail, land and mixed-use assets. His experience includes 100% and partial interest sales and recapitalizations as well as joint venture transactions. Mr. Shannon has spent his career helping clients structure transactions to best meet their goals.

Mr. Shannon joined Newmark after nearly 10 years at CBRE, where he served as vice chairman and managing director for the West Coast Institutional Investment Group and led the Western United States Office Vertical. Prior to CBRE, Mr. Shannon served as a senior vice president with the Institution Investment Group of Grubb & Ellis, now a part of Newmark. He began his real estate career at Colliers Seeley in 1983, where he rose to managing director and started their Investment Division.

Mr. Shannon has received many honors throughout his career and has been involved in numerous landmark sales, recapitalizations and joint ventures across the country, primarily for institutional clients in the markets of Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Houston, Phoenix and Las Vegas. Notable transactions include the $1.16 billion sale of the Amazon headquarters; the Calmart Building; One Wilshire; 1000 Wilshire; C3; The Campus at Playa Vista; The Hive; One Culver; the Playa Vista Land Parcels; City Tower; 101 Second Street; Post Montgomery; 1918 Eighth Avenue; Tilt 49; Urban Union; 1515 Wynkoop; Apollo Corporate Headquarters; and Hess Tower.
