I have 25+ years of experience in multifamily real estate. From 2005 - 2011, I led Berkshire Property Advisors’ western US acquisitions team, acquiring several hundred million dollars of multifamily real estate and debt. Prior to that, I spent 13 years with Berkshire Mortgage Finance (acquired by Newmark), last holding the position of SVP and Chief Underwriter. I served on the company’s Executive Committee and Loan Committee, with sole approval authority for loans up to $20 million. During my tenure, I managed the structuring, analysis, and approval of billions of dollars in multifamily real estate debt. My business partner, Charlie Haggard, also has 25+ years of experience in commercial real estate, previously holding the position of National Head of Origination for Bank of America’s Real Estate Structured Finance platform, a $30+ billion/year lending business. As a team, during our tenure at Newmark, Charlie and I provided our clients with over $15 billion in multifamily financing, including the financing of 21 portfolios consisting of 5 or more properties.
