Kate Leonard has been involved in real estate and construction, including restoration of historic homes since the age of twenty-three when she
lived and worked in Connecticut. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, she moved to Connecticut at an early age. She earned a B.S. degree and further master’s degrees while working in the field of education. In 1995 she moved to Newport, Rhode Island full-time and was elected to the Newport City Council a few months later. Since this time, Kate has been on the City Council, with the exception of two short terms. Her ward encompasses an expansive land area of Newport from the Newport Bridge out to Ocean Drive, including Bellevue Avenue, Thames and Spring Street as well as the streets surrounding and abutting these areas.
After buying and selling her own properties for years, she joined Lila Delman Real Estate/Christie’s Real Estate in 2008 in order to share her love and expertise of real estate with clients.
