About
John Montakab, Managing Director, joined Walker & Dunlop’s Capital Markets group in January 2021. Mr. Montakab is based out of the company’s Irvine, California office and focuses on sourcing and structuring financing for all commercial real estate asset classes on the West Coast, with a special focus on the Southern California region.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Montakab was responsible for multifamily brokerage as a First Vice President at CBRE, providing both transaction and advisory services to clients throughout Southern California. During his career, he has led the sale of properties with an aggregate value in excess of $3 billion in the Inland Empire, Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties. With previous experience in affordable housing transactions, Mr. Montakab has experience in due diligence, complex deal structures, and understanding market dynamics and drivers of future growth. Prior to joining CBRE, John was an Associate Director at Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap.
