John Catsimatidis is the Chairman and CEO of the Red Apple Group, which has holdings in real estate, retail petroleum products, convenience stores, oil refining, heating oil, transportation fuels, insurance, finance, aviation, and supermarkets. He was born in Greece and immigrated to the United States at six months old. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and studied engineering at NYU. Catsimatidis has built a business empire through various acquisitions, including Gristedes supermarkets and United Refining Company. He is also a talk radio show host and has been involved in philanthropic activities.
