About

Jim Michalak founded Plaza Advisors in 2006 following a nine year tenure at Cushman & Wakefield in Tampa where he assisted in building out their retail investment sales group for the State of Florida. Mr. Michalak has more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience and has specialized in the disposition of shopping centers for the past 26 years. He has directly been involved in more than $1.5 billion in retail dispositions throughout the southeastern United States.Mr. Michalak earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He holds a Florida Real Estate Broker’s License and has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) since 1991. Additionally, Mr. Michalak is active on the Florida ICSC Political Action Committee and has served as Chairman of the ICSC West Florida Idea Exchange. Mr. Michalak lives in Tampa with his wife, daughter and three sons.
